High Priest Deoca Geminiel
Grief is not a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity and the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve.
Description: Rather tall and slender, Deoca has a very imposing look about him. Pale hair, and pale eyes lend to a rather ghostly look, fitting for this gravekeeper. But not all about him is haunting and pale, the fiery passion with which he conducts himself is evident is his upright and alert posture. He walks with purpose and dignity.
Personality: Deoca is a man of many moods. He is respectful and mournful when speaking with the flock of Glanors followers. He conducts his business with the priesthood with the utmost decorum. Though he is prone to solomon gazes, Deoca becomes alive with passion when debate over the Thelos High Council comes to light. He cares very deeply about the spiritual wellbeing of the elves.
Background: Deoca and his brother Vincere could not be more different. Vincere was drawn in to the family political business almost immediately while Deoca spent more time in the shrines. But he always envied the way his brother spoke to people. When Deoca began his priest training with the shrine of Glanor, he would emulate the cadence his brother spoke in, finding it direct but calming. It was that extra spark, that sincere speaking voice that helped Deoca ascend to his position as the High Priest of Glanor. He is devout in shepherding over the mournful. He doesn't wish for death himself, but he knows it is an inevitable part of life, even for the greatly immortal.
With the Eradication War, the Third Migration and the flood in Isalsipre, Deoca has been very busy looking over Glanor's flock. The intense work has left him in a rather foul disposition most of the time. He is left looking for meaning behind the senselessness of the deaths that have taken place over the past century. Comforting those who mourn and shepherding those who are too weary to go on can take a toll at times. But he knows his place is with the people.
But having been such a strong leader at the arrival of Aarandor and the settling of Thelos, Deoca has been elected to the High Council of Thelos three times now. He is actively seeks to maintain the ancient buildings and layout of Thelos itself. The new Graveyard is a particular passion of his, turning it into a memorial of those who have passed. He may have been left disgruntled and seeking meaning in all of this, but he is determined to do his duty both as High Priest and as Council Member of Thelos's High Council.
