This is the Ocean ... she is my friend.
Description: Noelani slender yet muscular build and a short height that sets her apart from most Aeron. She has amber brown eyes, full brownish-pink lips, and long, wavy, raven black hair. Noelani usually wears her hair down, only tying it in a top bun sporadically when sailing or inventing. While her body could be described as lithe, Noelani sees it more as a vessel that gets her to where she needs to go and allow her to get to the next invention she wants to create.
Dark brown 'tribal' tattoos band around her upper arms, thighs and down her sides. The symbols represent the ocean and how it flows through her life.
Personality: Noelani stands out from the crowd. She is sea-loving, headstrong, strong-willed, practically fearless, and physically capable. Though she has moments of self-doubt, she has great pride in who she is, and is generally too stubborn to back away from new challenges. She approaches new experiences and tasks with the utmost seriousness and will stand her ground to fight for what she values even when all seems lost. She can present herself as an imposing force despite her size and has bested the most fearsome beasts and impossible obstacles across the seas while relying almost solely on her own intelligence and imagination to accomplish those tasks.
Background: Born during the time of peace after Estril's Feast, Noelani was the eldest of siblings with Zorasta being the youngest. Her childhood was calm but Noelani unlike her sibling was an adult when immortality left. She was still young enough to not fully understand the full ramifications of it yet see what fear it stoked in her parents. For her that feeling of not enough time burned in her the urge to make something. Something important. Something she had to do immediately.
This move forward. This dedication to the offensive lead her to the magic of Evocation. With her work on ships and her experiments on how to make the perfect ship lead her to make 'friends' with the ocean. It seems to listen to her call and seems to pay attention to how she needs it to move, which leads to better ship building skills and her experiments on how to build better ships. When the war came, that was what she threw herself into. As she lost herself into her 'science' and her magic - she lost herself to her family.
So as the crossing took both her parents, it wasn't much of an affect for her and just served to drive more of a wedge between herself and her sister. Yet as those that survived the suicidal mission, she could feel the familiar thrum of immortality in her veins. It was then she was tattooed by Velandria, the wave speaker. The story of water in her life and the immorality of it surrounding her, the lines darker brown against her skin still standing out as waves upon her body.
Crossing complete she threw herself into supporting the rest of her family, using what she learned of ships and magic to make a new home for them. As the Marindur and the Aeran at large moved to the cliffs, she made ships and new technologies for them to explore and push the boundaries of their new world. May the waters here continue to be her friend.
