Lord Priest Leofric Tenlindil
Loyalty isn't grey. It's black and white. You're either loyal completely, or you're not loyal at all.
Description: His features are all sharp angles, made harder by those steel eyes, before being softened by full lips and the freckles which run in a dominating band across his nose and cheeks. Naturally fair skin has been bronzed by hour upon hour under the sun and further marred by the scars of war, the most dominating of which is a line that slashes down through his left eyebrow, and cheekbone, narrowly missing the eye itself. His is not a build that dominates through size and brawn but rather one that bears the almost lazy grace of the particularly dangerous.
(His long nearly white hair is pulled back into a severe braid.)
Personality: Leofric is a man that can be trusted to do all those distasteful things that must be done and still sleep well afterwards. It's not that he is cruel, for he's actually capable of great empathy. Nor that he refuses to question, because he's quite willing to tell his leaders that they are wrong. Ita just that he genuinely believes that a man who follows orders is no more to blame for the outcome than a sword is responsible for a murder and has the unusual talent of being able to tuck things away, somewhere in the depths of that sharp mind, never to be thought about again. You might think that this would lead to him being a taciturn and harsh man and admittedly, amongst those he doesn't know, its not unusual for him to act that way. But once he gets to know someone, and comes to trust them enough, all the barriers come down and his funloving underbelly starts to show through. He does so love the absurd.
Background: Leofric's birth didn't accompany any great historical moments. Without the immediate obligation of a title riding on his shoulders, and an older sister, he was as sheltered as he could be from the strife of Estril's Feast which happened 50ish years before, he was left to grow and learn as he wished. He soon became interested in the path of a warrior, taking pleasure in the physical challenges, and later, as his education and desires matured he started to weave magic into the mix, although his focus is abjuration rather than the typical evocation typical to a spellblade. It was a pleasant childhood that passed into an unremarkable period of knightly service in the Blessed Order of Solaris.
The eradication war saw the young Leofric change into a ruthless veteran with a reputation for being a little too likely to obey the word of his orders instead of the spirit. It made for an awkward time, for the golden elves dont reward acts that are seen as cruel, but had value with those who held his oaths. Before too long, when there was something had to be done no matter what the price was to see it happen, they would send Leofric. He gained scars, both physical and emotional, during those years whilst he gained the internal defenses he would need to survive what he had done. A wary shell grew about his heart and outword demonstrations of his feelings few and far between. He took the news of his parents death in with a quiet fortitude that revealed little of his inner feelings but, when their beasts turned to dust during the migration, he wept. And when they finally arrived, and he thought the hardships of that war were behind him, he turned his focus to serving Baridon as one of his priests.
