Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.
Description: Nadir is tall and broad. He fills up space, both physically and socially. His hair is long, usually kept in tight braids studded with gold and gemstone beads. He wears a lot of jewelry as well. Chains and bracelets dangle from his neck and wrist, and rings glint at his fingers. He keeps himself as neat and clean as desert life allows, keeping his black beard short while wearing sliks and dyed leathers in deep gemstone colors.
Personality: Nadir smiles often, but there's always a cunning glint to his deep blue eyes. His laugh is loud and bellowing, but otherwise his voice is softer, more suited to private conversaton. While usually laid back, he follows Rithor's teachings religiously, and can be quite merciless when provoked.
Background: Nadir was born to a Devrien hunter named Mahdi and a Flame Seer who had once been a Sedriel, called Khalil. He was an only child, adored and raised to faithfully follow Rithor. Mahdi taught him how to survive in the desert wilds, while Sedriel taught him of the mystic arts--especially through fire. While his fathers wanted him to become a Flame Seer, he decided to dedicate himself to a life of business.
He combined his talents, focusing on mining and selling mala and varne crystals. It was a successful business. He became quite rich in his prime, maintaining a few crystal mines in the name of House Devrien. He focused on his business, traveling from mine to mine, to the point he never truly settled down.
Then immortality was lost. His fathers were old, too old to survive. They wasted away whie Nadir sat at their side, mourning them and wishing he'd spent more of his time with his family.
Coming to the new world, Nadir has had to start over. He's worked hard to root himself in the economy of Aarandor, looking for new mines for crystals and gemstones. It's been slow going, but Nadir is known for being persistent--even ruthless, when neccessary.
