Initiate Cordelia Laenorin
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better
Description: This rather small and willowy elf carries herself as though a feather in a gentle breeze. Soft, flitting, and free - like the ebb and flow of life within nature. Many upon first meeting her would say she is reserved or perhaps day-dreaming, though none would ever call her unkind or aloof. Wild, golden waves frame a calm, peachy face, with a slight smile always tugging at the corners of her lips.
(Cordelia is wearing a multitude of little silk flowers twined through her braided hair today, along with a wreath of more flowers upon her head. She is wearing her Initiate's robes, and carries a basket with her.)
Personality: Cordelia is a devout follower of Gala. She has a cheery disposition and strongly believes in the healing power of nature and its ability to protect and guide her people. The balance of nature and being in tune with the environment are important things to her. She practices Restoration magic with a bit of abjuration on the side, using plants and greenery as her defenses. Cordelia wears a flower in her hair that seems to always remain fresh. She has developed a strong connection with this new land, and her curiosity about all natural things as inspired in her a desire to explore more of it.
Background: Cordelia was only a child when the perilous journey was made across the seas from Larandor, confused about why they would so suddenly leave the riverbanks and beautiful tall trees of Riaeus she loved to explore. Her sharp eyes could pick out the smallest details - birds' nests and the speedy hummingbirds as they flit from flower to flower. But she could see smoke rising more and more on the horizon and knew they could not stay there much longer. She took the sea journey in stride, though her father Taeral did not survive it. She mourned him but soon her sorrow turned to elation at the notion of a new home to thrive in, feeling for the first time her mortality lifting from her and knowing she would have forever to explore it. She fell in love with Aarandor and its' beauty.
Even the flood, happening some fifteen years after they first settled the Syreian Split, could not crush her spirits. She lost some friends in the disaster but noticed how rich and lush the farmlands alongside were made by the deposited soil. How the trees weathered the storms. How Gala restored the lands that were damaged in due time. Nature always renews what it destroys, and protects its' own. She felt a new kind of connection to her goddess and knew that with the right kind of prayers and focus, they could make their new home better and more beautiful.
