Knight Guardian Kaeleirus Naevon
It is not enough to guardian the greatest of our treasures, we must make effort to see that it never ceases growing.
Description: Flowing white hair is just long enough to get down into the clear blue eyes of this elf, still youthful and vibrant. His skin is fair, as though he spends much of his time out of the light of the sun. He is of medium build, strong but without being bulky. A strong jaw and high cheek bones make for a noble face, while his ears taper up to points.
Personality: Kaeleirus runs hot and cold, in pretty much all things, to an extent he could be called moody at times. On the one day outgoing and gregarious, on the next withdrawn and secretive, it is hard to tell just what one might should expect from him. He is fiercely loyal to those he is close to, yet slow to forgive those who harm him or those he cares for. He struggles to balance a tremendous sense of duty with his innate curiosity and desire to explore and seek out new knowledge.
Background: Kaeleirus is the younger brother of Elstrin Naevon, head of House Naevon and a magical inventor of renown who has paved the way for the Duindar in these new lands. As a boy, Kaeleirus had a fascination with learning and exploration, devouring books and knowledge eagerly amidst his other training. His insatiable curiosity drew him to the Great Library often, a draw that would set the path for his life. As the Mortal Strife settled upon them, Elstrin recognized the danger of that which was known being forgotten, and bid her younger brother to stand as Guardian of the Great Library. And so, he who had always been fascinated with the Library and the knowledge within, became it's Knight Guardian.
When it came time for the Third Migration, Kaeleirus' place was with the great tomes of the Library, riding upon one of the vessels which would carry the knowledge of their kind on the voyage to Aarandor. It was a trying voyage, separated from his family and bearing the worry for them through the storms, while standing at the side of Diagones Egilion to see the core of the library safely transported. When dawn broke at last upon the shores of Aarandor, it was a relief to find his family safe, though the loss of parts of the library were certainly a crushing loss.
Since coming to Aarandor, it has been a time of trials and challenges, though he has looked proudly upon his sister's innovation and what it has done for the Duindar in such challenges. He strives to keep her example in mind, and to not be contented with the traditional answers or solutions when so much has changed. He carries a strong belief that the lost segments of the Great Library still exist intact, if only they could be found and returned, though that may be more an effort to justify his yearning to explore this new land while still feeling strongly his duty to the Library.
