Lady General Helene Tenlindil
Leadership is not a burden, but a privilege to carry with distinction and care for those whose very lives are affected by our decisions.
Description: Tall and with a warrior's muscular physique, Helene carries herself with all the disciplined stature one might expect from a respected military leader. Her long platinum hair is often bound back from her face with various braids. Her pale blue eyes are flecked with gold and set in a constant state of observation, narrowing and looking down on anything she finds sub-par. Warmth nearly never reaches her features, maintaining a rather stoic nature about her.
Personality: Helene was a serious child and grew into a very astute and focused woman. No one can doubt her determination. Anything she puts her mind to, she meets and then quickly exceeds. Though she seems to have very little time for pleasantries, Helene is a good listener, seeking to understand every situation before she jumps in to her decision.
Background: Helene was a strange child by anyone's standards. She was focused and stubborn, unwilling to let anyone tell her what her course in life would be. After a few frustrating attempts at nudging her towards diplomatic endeavors, her father, Lord Ector Tenlindil, finally conceded to her demands. She was set up with strategy teachers, combat instructors and all the rest as she began her studies in military leadership. Being the Granddaughter of the Duke bought her quite a few affordances and conversations with the various Kinship military leaders.
When she nearing adulthood, the Host attacked. Her father and grandfather marched with the Royal Lorandi army into battle against them. Helene begged and begged for them to being her with them, but as she was not yet old enough, she was forced to stay behind. She didn't waste a single moment of that time. She drew up plans and sent them to the King and the King's son, Arminel, outlining strategies that could help them get the upper hand. When they rejected her letters the first time, she started using a pen name, calling herself the Emissary of Rithor. Eventually they listened to her advice and made a few very strong pushes back against the Host. Unfortunately, it was all for naught as they were eventually overrun. Her father perished in the final battle, just before Duke Rollant ordered the retreat.
Much time has passed since she arrived in Aarandor with her Grandfather and many things have changed. Between the Eradication War and the Third Migration, most of the Lorandi military leadership was lost. When King Arminel eventually pointed Helene as the General of the Royal Army, many were shocked and left doubting the appointment. She decided then and there she could make all those who doubt her capabilities bite their words. She has been working to sure up the city of Toreendar and begin rebuilding their military.
