Log

Tarag the weathered snow wolf arrives, following Inweth.

Inweth has joined the Observation Benches.

Inweth slips her way quietly through the crowds, making her way to the observation benches and quietly taking a seat.

Leofric puts blood red hooded cloak decorated with a golden scale in silk covered belt with a gilded hound buckle.

Leofric wields a golden hound bracelet with a burgundy varne crystal gripped in its mouth.

Garett arrives by himself, having left his wolf and his elemental at home. His armor has been repaired from any damage sustained last week and has been freshly cleaned and polished so it refelcts the light. He waits near the field, his armor tucked under one arm

Leofric pats down his gear as he makes sure he's fully prepared for this fight. A moment is spent adjusting the two wide golden bracelets that wrap about his forearms and then he simply folds his arms and settles in to wait.

Escanor had arrived on the tournament grounds. He's dressed in his pitch-black battle armor, his cloak's hood covering his head until he arrives proper, his helmet under one arm while his greatsword is sheathed on his person...from his hand there is a shining mala crystal imbedded in a ring. Which weapon will the spellblade choose? Either way, he looks at all those gathered, waiting to see whose name shall be called.

Back at it again. Yvette is spending her preparation in quiet contemplation once she's verified that she's fully geared up and ready. The woman is holding her helm in her lap as she sits, staring into its face.

Saga steps into the training center, dressed in a full suit of shining steel. The young knight's armor is clearly well cared for, and so is the simple sword at her side. Even her sandy brown hair has been neatly tied back!

Eiliriel has settled herself at the observation benches so that she can watch what is surely to be a good show. And serve as a healer, should one be needed. One never knows how these things will end.

Shakian's armor is simply the worn leathers he travels in. He waits patiently.

Relios looks down at this fingers, inspecting the nails and cuticles with a critical eye. He stands off to the side of the tournament grounds, the light sheen of his silverum scaled armour glimmering in the pale light. His armour is as fancy as any Faenor would decorate their own. He flips his hand over to look at his palm now before quietly gathering his silver locks to pull back into a low ponytail so that it would be out of his face.

The area has been kitted out for the series of duels that are about to take place. Various snacks and refreshents have been set up around the seating that has been set up for the audience around the Training Center. Banners of the five different kinships have been set up as well. For a time, Rawlin watches the participants and audience stream in all while. When the time comes for the event to start, he leans down and ruffles Chubbles' head before standing and coming to the center of the area.

"Welcome Elves of Aarandor to another grand spectacle in this year's tournament: The Duels! Shortly we will witness some of the best fighters from around Aarandor square off against one another in one-versus-one combat. The loser of each fight will, sadly, be eliminated, but let us remember that losing one of these duels does not speak ill of them or their skill, but rather it speaks well of that individual. They stood up and decided to challenge themselves this day. They have honored Rithor, and we should all honor that." Rawlin glances around the audience once more, smiling.

"Now then, you don't want to sit here and listen to me talk all day. Let us get to the first match up." The High Priest walks back to the side and waits a moment before nodding for an announcer to call it out.

"PRINCE AURRI SERANNAR VERSUS LORD PRIEST LEOFRIC TENLINDIL."

Aurri makes his entrance, well not much of an entrance, the Prince keeps very much to himself, even though he is an entrant to the tournament. Emerald eyes glance over to the fellow competitors spying all the steel armor and his not so steely one, but he doesn't seem to mind the fact and instead focuses on his own preparing at the task ahead clearing his mind ahead. Oh well. So much for the waiting.

Aurri wields |A dark, gloomy mala crystal.

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Leofric gives Aurri a formal, respectful, bow when he's called out as his opponent for the duels.

Duke Daechir Brixtien steps into the center, paising to listen to Rawlin, as Rawlin is the reason he is here.. wanting to see what the elf lord has been putting all his energy into lately. Once the fight starts the Lorandi noble moves to find a seat and watch, forarms resting on his knees as he leans forward to slighty watching intently.

Daechir has joined the Observation Benches.

Relios wanders over towards Garett, smoothing a hand through his silver ponytail before coming to a halt near the man. He places a hand on his hip as he turns to station himself next to the Lord Heir and still be able to watch the fight. "How goes it, Lord Heir Garett?"

The Warlord of the Thalerith arrives at training grounds armed and armoured the same as always, making it unclear whether she is here to fight or merely to watch. "Bleh," sh ecomplains loudly, "You can hardly call this a real tournament, fighting with practice weapons just isn't the same. No blood, no risk, no fun at all." She crosses her arms and leans against the benches.

The announcer rises to his feet once the first duel has concluded, "THE WINNER: LORD PRIEST LEOFRIC TENLINDIL."

Garett nods his head, clapping his hands together as the fight ends

Relios claps his hands together as he forms his lips into an 'O', giving a quiet sound of interest as the winner is declared.

When it's her betrothed that's called up first, Yvette looks up from her introspective to regard those at their fighting. The woman sits up straighter, staring at the fight. Magic is not something she truly comprehends, so it's a bit of a mystery to see the two at work. Either way: it's clear which combatant she is hoping to win.

Inweth's hands clap softly for the victor from the observation benches.

Eiliriel claps politely as the fight ends, looking curiously at the two combatants.

Saga cheers for both of the Lorandi when they're called, and watches the fight intently. Studying how they move, how they react. When Leofric is named the winner, the Lorandi cheers loud, as well!

Shakian applauds the fighters. "Well done."

Even with low powered practice crystals, Sylindra will admit that fights between magicians are always pretty spectacular, though she does not cheer, she does manage a polite clap.

Escanor claps gently at the ending of the fight. "Well fought, both of you." It was quite the battle between spell-slingers! Escanor was impressed with Aurri's skill most of all, this being perhaps the first time he's seen Prince Aurri perform his magics in an immediate combat situation.

Leofric starts spinning a warding cloud of tangling vines about him the moment the fight is started. The grow dense around him, clustering into the space between the mage and the spellblade whenever the evocationist strikes towards the adjurationist spellblade. Those vines do little more than irritate Leofric's opponent. Its only when the Knight steps forward and brings his pretty sword into the game that the Prince starts to go down and now they are so close Leofric takes more than one blast in return. In the end though its Leofric who wins and he stops to help Aurri recover his balance with a soft "Well fought" before stepping out of the arena to wait besides Yvette for his next round.

After giving the combatants time to get themselves out of the center area (and for someone to maybe do a little clean-up), the announcer stands up once more. "LORD HEIR RELIOS AENORR VERSUS LORD PRIEST LEOFRIC TENLINDIL."

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Aurri puts up a good fight against the spellblade knight, but a good fight isn't well enough to bring the elf in steel armor down to his knees, as it is the Prince that goes down this time and gladly it is only practice crystals they are using. Getting back to his feet, he thankfully takes the Lord Priest's hand and nods his head "Thank you, you are definitely a skilled spellblade and we can be happy that you are fighting for us." he says and then wanders somewhere to watch the rest of the duels.

Leofric raises an eyebrow as he's called again before patting Yvette on the shoulder and then moving into the ring once again. He gives Relios the same sort of respect he gave Aurri before offering. "Good Luck."

The Lord Heir looks up from his spot at the announcement of his name, easing himself over towards the middle of the tournament center. He adjusts the silver bracelet at his arm that glints of a mala crystal attached to it. He faces Leofric and gives a nod of his head, situating himself ready for the battle as the glint of many particles begin to shimmer by his form. "By your ready."

"LORD HEIR RELIOS AENORR IS THE VICTOR."

Garett gives a sharp nod of approval as Relios emerges victorious, clapping his hands again

Inweth gives another round of applause as the fight reaches its conclusion, the soft clap of her hands lost in the crowd.

Aegon is, being a warrior and not a activity planner, not entirely ready for the event. He's stil applying the red war-paint to his face that he uses to honor Rithor at such events. It is thus with a raised right hand red with paint that he cheers his Kinsman. "Oi! Well Fought Relios!" And then it's back to make-up time... got to make the big red X look the right amount of scary.

Towards the end of the fight, Yvette is actually on her feet: helm in hand. It's a close one and she is watching intently. Particularly since while Leofric is her intended, Relios is an old friend. She'd be happy to see either win. When the Aenorr is successful, she gives a nod towards him and waits for the Tenlindil lord to leave the field, offering him her hand to let him rejoin her on the bench at the sidelines.

"Well done, both of you." Escanor calls out to Relios and Leofric. His eyes briefly shift over to Yvette as her betrothed fights on the sands of the tournament grounds. Her reaction is an interesting one, but he returns his attention to Rawlin. Who will be next?!

"Who is drawing up these brackets? Two fights in a row is bullshit!" Sylindra shouts from sidelines. It seems she has brought her heckling game in addition to the usual decorum.

Leofric approaches the fight with Relios the same way he did the last time. Using plant based abjuration to keep the mage away from him and then attempting to follow it up with direct damage from the sword. He takes a hard hit early on and never quite manages to compensate for the havok it did to his magical protection and balance. In the end he's forced to the ground and offers a surrender along with a "Very well fought" to Relios. That hand offered by Yvette draws him over to join her at the seats with a brief smile.

Leofric has joined the Observation Benches.

Saga watches intently once again, cheering on Leofric. When Relios comes out the victor, she reaches out to pat Leofric's arm on his way by. "You almost had that, and it was your second fight in a row. I don't think anyone can doubt you." Her smile's bright, but her gaze quickly slips back to Rawlin for the next match.

A chill begins to seep from the Lord Heir's form, the ground beneath his feet frosting. As soon as the single was given that the fight was to begin, Relios was quick to form a barrage of icicles to rain down on Leofric. He pivots on his feet to avoid the sword of Leofric and sweeps a hand to guide a spike of ice to erupt from the ground at the man. While the Lorandi used both magic and sword, Relios relied purely on his skill of Evocation. Even as he felt the biting steel upon his skill, the soldier never let up on his onslaught of ice. Eventually he was the only one standing as he watched Leofric fall to the ground. He pauses, stopping himself from continuing before pulling himself straight and smoothing his hair back. "Well fought," he returns, his expression icy and still.

"MARCHIONESS YVETTE MONSTALD VERSUS LORD ESCANOR SERANNAR."

Leofric smiles at Saga. "He deserved it Saga. It's fine. I have realised I need to work on my fitness again during these last few days though. It was a worthwhile lesson." His eyes keep going back to the fight as he talks though. "That was unfortunate."

"Dammit Yvette, I taught you to /dodge/ didn't I!?" Sylindra yells from the stands. She seems kind of peeved, maybe it's the lack of blood, Thalerith like blood, right?

"LORD ESCANOR SERANNAR IS THE WINNER."

Saga looks to Leofric again, still with a smile. "I'll go for runs with you, if you want? I could probably stand to work on it, too." She grins, but then Escanor and Yvette are stepping into the ring, and pale blue eyes are trained on them.

Shakian applauds the fighters

Garett leans forward, watching carefully as Yvette and Escanor take the field. He studies their movements as they trade blows back and forth before Escanor remains the last one standing.

Inweth lifts her hands to offer her applause for the fighters, watching on with interest.

Yvette has joined the Observation Benches.

Relios lets out a yawn, scratching his head. He didn't seem to be watching the fight. Or perhaps it ended before he could pay attention.

Escanor looks across the grounds at Yvette when she is chosen to be his opponent. He bows softly, the pitch-black armor making little noise. "Let us have a good battle, Grandmaster Yvette." Then he straightens out, his eyes narrow, and he draws that greatsword so fast, it might as well have been lightning. If the blade is heavy, Escanor doesn't make any showing of it, wielding it like its weightless in his hands. He charges forward, Yvette's strikes either hitting his armor or slicing through nothing but air. Escanor uses his sword to strike Yvette with tremendous force repeatedly until she can no longer rise to his challenge. He stands over her for that brief moment, before the announcer calls for his victory. Sheathing his blade once again, he offers to help Yvette back to her feet. "You did well, Yvette. Thank you for allowing me to win." Escanor, forever humble.

Relios slowly blinks as he looks over towards Inweth, raising an eyebrow.

Daechir is silent watching the fights, there have been no call outs, whistles or even clapping from the Brixtien Duke. He however has been watching closely, his violet eyes missing little on the field, even if the Duke seem oblivious to those around him in the stands.

When it's a weapon the size of the one Escanor is wielding, it's harder for someone like Yvette to get through with a saber. Sylindra's shouts in the end earn the Thalerith what might even be a rude gesture, but then: the Monstald is tired and as she accepts the Serannar's help back to her feet, she gives him a nod. "I hate your sword," she tells him, bluntly. Removing her helm, she makes her way to the benches to get some water before taking a seat to watch the rest.

Relios gives a nod of his head.

"LORD HEIR GARETT INGITH VERSUS LADY SAGA BRIXTIEN."

Garett slips his helmet on as his name is called, pulling his sword from it's sheathe. He marches his way onto the field and turns to face Lady Saga

Garett wields Lightwarden, a steel longsword.

Saga rises, stepping into the ring! She faces Garret, offering a grin.

Relios wakes up from his stupor and quickly claps his hands at the mention of a Lord Heir. Looking around with half-lidded eyes attempting to go wide. "Lord Heir Garett, may the gods be in your favour."

"LORD HEIR GARETT IS THE WINNER!"

Relios claps.

Inweth nods lightly for the Brixtien's tenacity, hands lifting to clap softly for the competitors.

Garett rushes Lady Saga as their fight begins. He is just as brash and furious in combat as he is in the rest of his life, lunging forward with broad strokes of his blade in an attempt to batter down his opponent and whatever defense they would offer. Once Saga falls though, he checks his blade, slipping it back into his sheathe as he offers his hand down. "Well fought Lady Saga. I am pleased to finally face you."

Eiliriel is paying attention with interest, and when a winner is announced, of course, she claps politely for them.

Aegon has his make-up done by now, his shield painted to represent his family and his face painted to honor Rithor. He's hopping up and down cheering for Garett, bouning his way closer to his position for his duel, banging his sword against his shield and generally making a lot of noise and trying to be scary. He's a big elf, broad if not tall, but it's also a tournament that is in good fun, so who knows if it's actually effective.

If nothing else, Saga has grit. While not many of her attacks land hard enough to do any damage, the young knight continues fighting long after she probably should have gone down. Her aggressive style of combat doesn't leave her much defense, and Garret is able to wear her down. Saga simply lays on the floor for a few moments before pushing herself back up to her feet to drag herself over to a bench!

"NEXT UP! AEGON KEIR VERSUS SHAKIAN NEREA!"

Finally Sylindra cheers instead of heckling, but it's still obnoxiously loud, has she been drinking? "Whoo! Go Ingith! That's why I married a man with Ingith blood, y'all as good at fighting as you are at fucking!"

Shakian wields Utilitarian Short Sword.

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Escanor watches the fight play out. Saga is one tough elf, but he knows that Garett is perhaps the more effective fighter. "You did very well, both of you. I'm proud of you Saga, for standing your ground as you did. You pressured him, forcing him to take you seriously. Well-done." He tries to comfort her with a pep-talk. He looks at Garett...he has a feeling he's going to have to fight him at some point in this tournament.

Shakian steps forward with his battered sword and comfortable armor. "Well met," he says.

Aegon thumps his chest in salute, "Aye, fight well, hold nothing back, I have no fear." He's dropping into a stance then, hiding as much of his bulk behind his shield as he can.

The Lord Heir of House Aenorr raise a hand to his mouth to magnify his speech as he calls out, "Sir Aegon! May the battle be yours!"

Garett his head snaps to the side to look at Sylindra as she calls out, making the sort of face that only a young man can make at the knowledge of an older relation having carnal knowledge

"AEGON KEIR IS YOUR WINNER."

a floppy yet regal ginger cat named George have been dismissed.

Inweth offers her applause for the competitors.

Relios stands from his seat to applaud for Aegon before promptly sitting back down. He seems more awake now.

"Gods damn Aegon, if that had been a real fight you would have killed his body on top of his soul, that's just brutal!" Sylindra observes loudly.

Shakian is not the best fighter in the center by any stretch of the imagination. He is not a flashy swordsman, nor is he an imposing physical specimen. He fights gamely and gets clobbered. When the healers get him back on his feet, he says, "Well, that was an experience. It tells me I need more experience. Well fought, sir!"

Aegon is a monster on the field. Escanor knows this. But he seems to clap for his victory all the same, but he doesn't vocally cheer. Now he's strategizing. Thinking. Watching and learning.

Garett gives a nod of his head at the success of his faenor kinsman and Shakian's attitude, applauding the fight.

Aegon is playfull and loud before the fight, but when the steel starts swinging he's all business, keeping tucked up behind his shield as best he can. He seems to take a few testing swings at first, cautious swings, but once he's got a rhythm going the back and forth between the two elves becomes unbalanced, with Aegon coming out ahead. He sheathes Staghorn and happily claps Shakian on the shoulder, "I give lessons, you fought with heart, it's only a matter of training and time until you beat me instead!"

Shakian nods. "Lessons, yes. I'll send you a messenger."

"We are now in the Semifinals. There will be two matches, each will determine who one of the two finalists shall be. First up? LORD HEIR RELIOS AENORR VERSUS LORD ESCANOR SERANNAR!"

Pulling himself up from the bench, he places a hand to his lower torso as he guides himself towards the center of the arena. "THE FIRST FINALIST: LORD ESCANOR SERANNAR!"

Inweth claps gently for the battle as it finds its conclusion.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Inweth before departing.

"Oh come on, that thing is huge, how could you not dodge it!" Sylindra goes back to heckling, echoing her comments after Escanor's fight with Yvette.

It was like getting his by a mountain. His body ached and his vision swimmed, he could barely recall what exact transpired between his fight with Escanor. Ice, steel, more steel and black. Just black. He groggily began to push himself up, and walked over towards Escanor to give him a pat on the shoulder, well what he thought was the man's shoulder, and stumble off towards the benches. A hand delicately held his head, he could feel as if it was splitting open and his body wanted to die at that very moment. "Ow..."

"It's like trying to dodge a door," Yvette says, flatly, to Sylindra. "Wherever you go, there it is."

Relios has left the Observation Benches.

Relios has joined the Observation Benches.

Saga is smart enough not to wave off a healer, and is soon watching the next bouts! "I'm more and more pleased with Escanor joining us, I think."

Relios looks towards Inweth, slowly pulling his hand from his face as he inclines it back for the woman to inspect. "Does it make me look ugly?"

Escanor gives a nod in return to Aegon and Saga, looking across the fields when his name is called to see Relios standing across from him. He deeply inhales after a moment, he's gonna have to be fast. Relios is a demon with the lifewell. Narrowing his eyes, Escanor lightly presses his feet deeper into the ground, before he launches off of it with such force that the ground actually -breaks-. A blast of magic is fired at him and he outright dodges it, another spell is equally dodged. One spell is literally powered through by Escanor slicing through the ice shard, the two large chucnks falling on either side of him. Then its close-range. The weapon might be huge, but Escanor's the one wielding it. Whole new game, now. Nevertheless, Escanor manages to take Relios down with a combination of a strong knee to the mid-section, a punch to the face, a dodge of another ice spell at near-point blank range, and a smack with the flat-side of the blade. "You did very well, Relios." he offers Relios his hand to help him to his feet. If he can't stand yet...Escanor will be honorable and carry him off the field.

"Our second and last semifinal bout is between LORD HEIR GARETT INGITH and AEGON KEIR!"

Inweth leans toward Relios, a hand settling to his knee as she lowers her voice.

Garett nods his head, making his way back onto the field. He lifts his sword, pointing it gamely towards Aegon. "Come on, show me that Keir skill."

Relios lets out a light groan as he places the hand back to his face, as if that would help him. It didn't. He glanced over towards a hover healer and allows them to baby him.

Aegon is swinging his arm about, warming that old shoulder up as he takes the field again. "You'll see it lad, and get no more quarter here than you do in training."

Escanor is overheard praising Aegon: Well done.

Inweth's applause sounds the slightest bit louder for the harrowing battle, the corners of her eyes creased with approval.

Rawlin is overheard praising Garett: Fought a duel for the ages!

Aegon is breathing hard when it's over, his age showing against the much younger elf. Still, as the two go blow-for-blow again and again, beating and bruizing the life out of eachother, Aegon manages to come out ahead when it's over. He stands panting after what feels like hours of swining, sinking slowly to a knee and laying Staghorn down so that he may wave off those who come to heal and assist, "Oi, just... give me a minute to catch me breath..."

Yvette is overheard praising Garett: Quite the fight

Yvette is overheard praising Aegon: He took a licking and kept on kicking!

Garett leaps into the fight just as he had before. He and Aegon batter each other back and forth before Garett lets out a feral howl, throwing his all into each attack. He drives forward, counting on his armor to protect him. But unfortunately his fatigue from the length of the battle and his multiplying wounds send him to the ground.

Garett is overheard praising Aegon: A battle well fought

Escanor looks significantly impressed by what he had just witnessed! His eyes actually widened and he rose to his feet, clapping at the display that was just shown to all in accordance. Garett and Aegon are true warriors, who fought to the bitter end. "You both performed splendidly. Congratulations on your win, Aegon Keir."

For once Sylindra looks excited, she's leaning forward as whole fight, watching intently the two Faenor go at each other. The battle is intense and incredibly even as they match each other blow for blow. Steel clashes on steel as the both of them stubbornly stay in the fight even as exhaustion begins to creep up on them. Then finally when Aegon gets the better of Garett and the Ingith hits the ground, the Warlord erupts in loud cheers, "Whoo! Well fought Garett! Amazing fight!"

Aegon rises up slowly, pushing off the ground with his shield to get a bit of a boost. "Aye... a good win and a better fight." He leans down then to pick his sword up from the ground. "I pray Rithor can grant me another, as I show him my courage in the face of a mighter opponent."

Sylindra is overheard praising Garett: An impressive display of Ingith studliness.

"LADIES AND GENTLE-ELVES, THE MOMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! THE FINALS! LORD ESCANOR SERANNAR VERSUS AEGON KEIR! WHO WILL WIN? WILL THIS BE AS EPIC AS THE LAST DUEL WAS? CAN POOR AEGON STILL STAND? ALL THESE QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED SHORTLY!"

A fight has broken out here. Use @spectate_combat to watch, or +fight to join.

Escanor steps out into the field after making one last check that Relios was alright, having been next to him to make sure he's truly alright and he did no lasting damage. With that done, he steps out into the tournament grounds once again, carrying his greatsword at his side as he moves. He looks across the field at Aegon as he rises to his feet to face him. Escanor had barely a scratch on him...while Aegon just went through hell. Escanor considers holding back...but what would that look like in the face of all? He will not dishonor Aegon. In fact, he respects him by giving him a salute with his greatsword, hilt to chest, then a wide slash at the sand with the greatsword, creating a noticeable crease in the dirt. "I salute you, Aegon Keir. Do not hold back."

"LADIES AND GENTLE-ELVES, THE WINNER OF THE DUELS -- AEGON KEIR!"

Relios stands to his feet, his hands clapping together with care and ease. A small smile eases onto his lips as he applauds for the Faenor.

Leofric says "Ahh. Pity. But it was a well fought fight."

Inweth rises gently from her seat, offering her gentle applause for the finalists.

Rawlin is overheard praising Aegon: Victor of the duels!

Garett closely watches the fight as the healers tend to him, twitching in excitement as the fight goes on. When Aegon strikes the final blow, Garett leaps to his feet, letting out a savage cheer for the other Faenor and undoubtedly startling the healers around him

Shakian is on his feet cheering the end of the fight. "Amazing! Well done!" That he lost to the eventual winner is also a source of minor relief.

Shakian is overheard praising Aegon: A most worthy champion

Aegon stands, or rather crouches behind his shield, in a drawn out exchange of blows with Lord Escanor. While this duel is in fact shorter than his previous, he's left even more winded by the end of it. The noise of their clashing swords alone is almost exhausting, and this time when his opponent falls Aegon wobbles and then goes down too, dropping into a kneel and then laying right down and rolling over on to his back, shielf weakly pumped to the heavens in celebration.

Yvette is overheard praising Aegon: He 'gon right on outta here with that prize.

Garett is overheard praising Aegon: For winning the Duels!

Shakian is overheard praising Escanor: Fought into the finals and fought well there. Well done!

Rawlin is overheard praising Escanor: For doing his best and showing the might of House Serannar!

Garett is overheard praising Escanor: Well fought, one of our greatest warriors

Like with the duel between Aegon and Garett, the Warlord watches the fight between Aegon and Escanor with considerable interest. Her eyes carefully following the fight as it too proceeds on a slow build-up with the two fighters prove fairly evenly matched. In the end however, it seems the Faenor Master-at-Arms has superior conditioning, which allows him to take the upper hand once fatigue begins to set-in against the larger man. She detaches herself from her perch by the stands and approaches the fighting ring. "Aegon Kier," she says the name as if for the first time. "How come I have never before heard of a man strong enough to defeat both the Knight Lord Heir of Ingith and the Black Mountain of Serennar?"

Escanor fights with Aegon blow for blow, not backing down an inch from the Faenor warrior! Each exchange brought the wrenching of steel and the downpour of blood. But alas, in the last exchange, Aegon was just a microsecond faster. Escanor is knocked onto his back, gasping for breath as he rolls to a knee, using his sword to force aid to help him back up to his feet. Its been a very long time since Escanor was pushed to that extreme...which may have been the tipping of the scales so to speak in Aegon's favor. Alas, Escanor is defeated.

Sylindra is overheard praising Aegon: This man fights.

Aegon sits up first, his red war paint marked up with dust and sweat now. "Oi?" He says, looking around. From there he rolls to his feet, "A great challenge, that was, Lord Escanor. You're to be commended for offering up so much fear to be overcome..." Aegon can't show his courage if there's nothing to be afraid of after all! "Me?" he looks around then, catching on to Sylindra's question. "I'm no leader, no hero. I'm just a humble teacher you see..." A teacher of armies but he leaves hat part out.

As Inweth's applause concludes, she lightly lowers herself back onto the benches.

"A teacher..." the Warlord echoes. Then she smiles, "Well you have certainly taught many lessons today. Why don't you take a rest old man, and then we can see if you can teach me anything. I want to test my strength against yours."

Escanor stays kneeling for a moment. "Twice now, I have failed my kinship." He mumbles only to himself. "...perhaps this Dragon is becoming too old..but I am glad I still have enough skill to challenge one of the best warriors I have faced in a very long time." Escanor wills himself back to his feet, looking then to Aegon as he speaks to him. "Unfortunately, fear does not equal martial skill. All stories are but a little embellished, are they not?" When Sylindra calls him the Black Mountain some moments ago, Escanor looks at her. "Even the tallest mountain started as a stone. My defeat was inevitable when I saw the will in his eyes."

Relios ushers healers over towards the two combatants as he strolls over towards the two of them. Giving Escanor a clap of the hand on his shoulder and giving a nod to Aegon. "Well done you two."

Aegon is back on his feet, wiping his blade against his leg. "Rithor gives me the strength to persist, but I find some joy in handing out lessons..." He's then twisting his back one way ad the next, looing between Rawlin and Sylindra, "Aye, if me losing doesn't make her Tournament Champion, and her losing doesn't make me Warlord, I think I've got enough breath for one more."

Leofric has left the Observation Benches.

Rawlin laughs and shakes his head, "No, you are the champion of this event, Aegon. Nothing will take that away from you."

Garett strides out onto the field. "Well done Aegon. I take some solace in my defeat knowing that the Champion was the one to beat me." He claps the Faenor on the shoulder before turning to Escanor and bows slightly to him. "I regret that I did not get a chance to face you."

"I do understand you fear, I wouldn't wish being Warlord on anyone," Sylindra dead pans.

"I do not care for tournament prizes. I simply wish to test my strength against the strongest fighters, and right here, right now, that is you Aegon Kier," the Warlord adds as she picks up a spear and walks into the ring.

Yvette has left the Observation Benches.

Marzena, the golden eagle leaves, following Yvette.

Sylindra wields the spear, White Glint.

Escanor looks briefly downtrodden, before he takes a breath and rises back fully to his feet. He bows to Aegon at the waist and makes his way out of the ring, watching as Sylindra walks ont othe field to test her might against Aegon.

Shakian sticks around for the afterfight. "This could be interesting."

The Lord Heir swiftly makes his way out of the arena and settles himself back onto the benches, icy blue hues watching the two carefully.

Aegon nods a few times, and with a level of energy reduced from his displays, he thumps his sword Staghorn against his shield and then gets into a family crouch, trying to keep as much of his body behind his shield as he can.

Count Chubbles arrives, following Rawlin.

With the battles over, Inweth rises from her seat, wolf following dutifully at her heel as she departs.

Inweth has left the Observation Benches.

Aegon does what he can to keep up with the elf who is, in theory, the greatest warrior amongst the Thalerith. She's got him beat on two fronts, landing her blows consistently, but also dodging his just as well. In the end with so many duels, his footwork just isn't the same, and he's soon unable to restrain himself behind his shield. Swinging wildly a few times opens up more than one opportunity for her to take him down and when she does, he goes down as hard as he fights. He lays still, his breathe the only proof that she didn't just kill him, though when he groans it sounds as if he might be wishing she had.

The Warlord had made sure to ask High Priest Rawlin to restore the fighting strength of Aegon Kier before the two dueled, and she was extremely glad to have done so. The old master-at-arms proved a formidable challenge, but having seen him fight twice, she had taken his measure and come up with suitable tactics to counter his fighting style. Nonetheless it proved a fight about as lengthy as that of the last two bouts of the Duels Tournament, as the two warriors circled each other, probing their defences, but the whole time the Warlord held the upper hand, so the conclusion was inevitable. The Feanor had taken many more hits, and was starting to grow tired, and so he fell, with the Thalerith standing victorious over him.

Tarag the weathered snow wolf leaves, following Inweth.

Relios has left the Observation Benches.
